Weapons Detection Solutions
Promote a weapon-free environment with advanced shooter and concealed weapons detection, effectively managing the risk of unauthorized arms at your facility.
The increasing prevalence of weapon use and violent crimes is a major concern for organizations. Whether it’s a commercial establishment, educational institution, or public space, no place is exempt from the potential risk of such incidents. It’s imperative to have a robust plan in place to both deter and respond to these threats effectively.
Advancements in technology have paved the way for sophisticated concealed weapon detection systems and shooter detection systems. These tools offer a superior alternative to traditional security measures like manual pat-downs, handheld metal detectors, and bag inspections, providing real-time threat detection and response.
Concealed Weapons Detection
Motorola Solutions’ Concealed Weapons Detection (CWD) System powered by Evolv can help prevent weapon use and violent crime in your facility.
Designed to scan people walking at normal speed as they pass through the detectors, CWD looks for a wide range of concealed weapons and threats, including firearms, metallic weapons, and improvised explosive devices under clothing and inside bags.
- Superior accuracy compared to traditional metal detectors
- Visual alerts pinpointing potential threats on a person’s body or bag
- Seamless integration with Avigilon Control Center
- Scans up to 3,600 people per hour, eliminating bottlenecks at points of entry
- Discreet and non-intrusive, offering a more positive and welcoming experience
Motorola Solutions’ CWD offers a touchless, non-intrusive, and efficient screening solution, capable of scanning up to 3,600 people per hour. This eliminates entry bottlenecks and reduces labor costs by up to 70% as there’s a reduced need for conventional security measures like metal detectors, hand wands, pat-downs, and bag inspections.
Absco has partnered with Motorola Solutions to provide revolutionary weapons detection technology. Our team is fully trained and ready to install, configure, and integrate these advanced systems seamlessly within your facilities.
Visible Firearm Detection
Avigilon’s Visible Firearm Detection (VFD) analytics detects people with drawn firearms.
Firearm-in-hand Detection
VFD detects handheld firearms, including handguns and long guns. It will not send alerts for firearms that are not with a person (e.g. on a table) or not in a person’s hand (e.g. on a holster or slung over the back).
Quick Notification
Operators are notified of handheld firearms within an average of 5 seconds of the active shooter being detected on a camera.
Human-in-the-loop
VFD is designed to have a human in the loop to receive, triage, and quickly act on real threats. Security operators or the central monitoring team can verify confirmed detections and send positive alerts to personnel on the ground to take appropriate actions.
Shooter Detection Solutions
Absco Solutions partners with Shooter Detection Systems, the industry’s leading gunshot detection solutions provider. Shooter Detection Systems has been protecting schools, corporations, public venues, retail, and government buildings with indoor gunshot detection solutions since 2015, adding up to over 100 million operational hours in over 500 customer sites across the globe.
The patented gunshot detection technology has the highest level of certification from the Department of Homeland Security. It uses 2-factor acoustic and infrared flash detection to listen for a blast and watch for a muzzle flash across the entire detection area, no line of sight required.
- 99.9% detection rate, with less than one false alert per 5 million hours
- high-priority alert sent directly to the local 911 dispatch in case of a shooting
- automatically triggers other security systems, including video management and mass notification
